About the Recipe
A smoothie is one of the best grab-and-go options but it's really important to make it a balanced meal at the same time. This recipe includes essential protein, fat and fibre to prevent glucose spikes and uses lower sugar beetroot juice that contains nitrates that help to dilate blood vessels and lower blood pressure (if you already have low blood pressure, proceed with caution or swap it out for milk). Flax and chia seeds add healthy fats and gut supporting fibre. Because it's a smoothie, it's another opportunity to smash in some more greens so I've also included spinach in this one.

Ingredients
100g Berries, fresh or frozen
Beetroot juice
50g Greek yogurt
1tbsp milled linseeds (flax seed)
1tbsp Chia seeds
30g Protein powder (vanilla or unflavoured)
Handfull of spianch leaves
Water for desired consistency
Preparation
Place the fruit in a blender
Cover with beetroot juice
Blend until smooth. Add more water as needed to reach desired consistency. Enjoy immediately.
